What's the point of supporting policies that have no chance of being passed?

Because you move the bar by advocating for them, and their overwhelmingly popular among the American people.

Biden’s approval is down to 42.9 percent.
And still dropping. Fast.

yes, u did.

u said to make it illegal, not just distasteful, for a president to read a speech he didnt write.

the freedom of speech includes the freedom to read speech u didnt write. and law against reading a prepared statement, for a president or even a criminal in a court proceeding, is a violation of the first amendment.

feel free to just say "no it isn't" tho. as u will.

The 1st amendment is already restricted in some ways. There are many things people can't say, or they can say but there will be legal consequences. I don't see anything wrong with adding one more thing.

Do you really want your president to read some writer's thoughts instead of his own?

You can only restrict speech if it passes strict scrutiny, which means it has to be tailored as narrowly as possible to fulfill a very strong and immediate public need.

A restriction on reading others words could not be made to meet that standard

do i want them to? no. do i want it legally banned? no.

what i want and what i think a fair law of the land to punish people for arent the same.

and what is ur plan? arrest the president? he then pardons himself. and u want what? a constitutional amendment change? do u even know the legal process for doing that? or just legal precedence set? and do u know the process for that?

I disagree.

For regular people, indeed restricting them from not reading others' words is indeed too much but not so for a president. What a president thinks and says he will do will impact the entire country. Or if he's faced with charges of wrongdoings which again will impact the entire nation. I want to hear straight from him his answers, what his plans and intentions are for the country. I don't want him reading some writer's thoughts. This isn't unreasonable.
