So people want to make abortions illegal to stop people from getting abortions but it won't stop people from getting abortions. You brought up people getting abortions past 12 weeks and if they're going that far I don't think making abortions illegal would stop them. It's the same logic people use about gun control and how it won't stop people from illegally obtaining guns, same concept here.
