most of those birds are due to some crazy selective breeding even beyond typical cornish cross birds. most of the factor farmed birds dont ever grow many feathers, and are selectively bred to grow their breasts 2x the size as is appropriate for that bird. then they overfeed them fat and protein well beyond the 16-18% mixes to speed it up even more.
cornish cross up until 6 months look like typical chickens, after that tho its yuck yuck yuck
yeah if you seen a whole chicken from europe or on smaller usa farms the thighs and breasts are almost same size, which makes sense the birds spend all their lives upright
