policy in 2020 pushed by pale pasty privileged lefties like you led to thousands of mom and pops being permanently closed so you could safely shop at home alone on amazon with 3 masks on

And I always shop local. I stick my my ethics more than anyone else here.

This is common place in a lot of parts of the US. When SHTF after Floyd, everyone on the net was awstruck when Midway got sacked. That happens daily, the Cub Foods/Target/Walmart there have a policy that its better to let the perp casual steal then confront.

I didn't realize this was a thing in america
Here i am paying for my stuff like a sucker when you can walk into a walgreens, steal what you want and walk outside. Why do the employees even bother?

He doesn't even run 🤔

My Father in Law is a store manager at a Cabelas down south. They have a serious problem with theft but they can't actually do anything about it.

He has wild stories of people coming in and stealing (like your post) and walking out with no resistance. They are trained to NOT do anything about it and if they intervene they'll get fired.

People walk in - throw on a $200.00 Northface and stuff their pockets with whatever and just walk out the door. No care in the world.

The only thing they can do is report that person for trespassing and tell them they're no longer welcome in the store. They can't actually address the theft.

Apparently, each store has a very large slush fund that's used to offset the cost of stolen goods along with a hefty insurance policy.

A bullet to the skull would be a fairly cheap solution to dealing with these delinquents and you'd be helping tackle crime that would stretch over the next 5-10 years until these people inevitably commit homicide and get locked up

Unfortunately, Hammurabi's code is no longer valid in the States.

I agree with you.

They address the theft by writing it off and they lose nothing and they get to keep employees safe from liability.

The system is set up for them so effectively that they can get robbed and lose nothing. Whenever we got robbed at pizza hut or whatever it was ultimately like who cares, they will write it off in taxes, nobody got stabbed by the crack head right?

A north face jacket is polyester and fake feathers, they rob people when ever they sell one of those ok coats for 200 bucks. Same with Patagonia polyester shirts for 200 bucks. Lol. Patagucci.

Nothing new. It's a city. You couldn't do this in a small town which is what most of canada is. I'm sure you'll find similar behavior anywhere like san Fran where it's the world's wealthiest and poorest combined in a small amount of space.
