It really depends on Jenner's exact stances. In a best case scenario, she could be some sort of "sane" transgender person who just does her own thing without making a fuss or trying to aggressively force the rest of society to accommodate her delusions. In this scenario, she could pave the way for a possible conservative/Republican answer to the transgender issue: "it's okay to be trans, but everything that follows from this fact is your personal problem".

I checkedwiki on both Jenner and Newsom: Newsom seems incredibly more competent. Like night and day.
Not to mention he's supporting same sex marriage since a while and is "only" 53 years old. Jenner is 71 and seems pretty much unstable.
Aligning with Trump is already a mental issue anyway.
