You say that we can't have a productive conversation, but I disagree. If you agree with everything they did, that's fine. That's the society you want to live in and more power to you. If you think the actions should have been different, then that means you want the officers to be accountable. What does accountability look like to you? I think that's where the discussion should be.

Based on what I saw on the video, I'd score the officers action a 9.5/10. The choice to say "you should be" was not great, but it's unrealistic to expect officers to always choose the right words.

Their performance is satisfactory. In a world where we have human cops, performance is never going to be perfect. If humans constantly performing at 9.5/10 is unacceptable, then we will never be able to have an acceptable system.

Windsor Police Officer Daniel Crocker radioed he was attempting to stop a vehicle withno rear license plate and tinted windows. He said the driver was "eluding police" and he considered it a "high-risk traffic stop," according to a report he submitted afterward and which was included in the court filing.

Arthur said Nazario explained at the time that he wasn't trying to elude the officer, but was trying to stop in a well-lit area "for officer safety and out of respect for the officers."
Another officer, Joe Gutierrez, was driving by when he heard Crocker's call, saw him attempting to stop the SUV and decided to join the traffic stop. Gutierrez acknowledged that Nazario's decision to drive to a lighted area happens to him "a lot, and 80% of the time, it's a minority," Arthur said, quoting the officer.

The lawsuit says by the time the two officers reached Nazario's SUV, the license plate was visible in the rear.

Yes a minor traffic stop, it was a brand new car and he had not fit his plates yet but he had them visible.

The officer said it was a felony traffic stop because he's full of shit lol.

Also, it's funny that the guy was like, "WHAT'S YOUR RANK!? ARE YOU A CORPORAL?" He assumed that because he was black, that he didn't go to college and was enlisted lmao.

They also said he was about to ride the lightning or did you miss that because you closed your eyes at the moment you peaked?

So you think it was reasonable to immediately draw a gun and you think it was reasonable to assume that it was a felony traffic stop?

Now does the "crime" of not having your brand new plates on but having them clearly displayed mean you should be accosted at gun point by angry dickheads? I say no.
HE said he considered it a high risk stop?
Now what reasoning could he have..
Hmm..

If I was watching a different video that showed everything leading up to the stop, I may indeed determine that the cop was wrong to deem it a "felony traffic stop". But neither you or I are watching that video. We are only discussing the video we did watch, which contains no information about the context that led the officer to conclude that it was a felony traffic stop.

I don't have an opinion on that since the context of what led up to the stop wasn't included in the video I watched.

Based on the article, the officer did not see a rear license plate on the vehicle and the windows were tinted. In addition, the combat extraordinaire did not immediately pull over and drove an extra quarter mile to a gas station so that the area would be well lit.

What video are you watching?
Because it ain't this one.

And I respond by sticking to the video. Then you criticize me for insisting on sticking to the video.
