?? Natural gas doesn't freeze, the pipelines it's pumped through doesn't freeze. To give you a real idea of what happened in Texas, so you are clued in:

A single safety sensor on one of the four nuclear power plants froze. That was enough to cause an automatic shutdown of the reactor. So 25% of the nuclear went away. 25% of the total grid power went away with the freezing of the Windmills. Due to the extreme cold, people started turning their heaters on/up. Like, in their homes? Most of these work off natural gas. This redirected the natural gas away from gas-burning power plants. The problem wasn't that the natural gas "broke" it was simply redirected away from electrical power generation to provide heat, which, paired with the extra demand from the grid from the electrical heaters also demanding a ton more power, destroyed power generation for the grid.

But the natural gas pipelines? They're fine. The natural gas itself? Is fine. Even the nuclear and wind are fine. It was a temporary downing. Again, the concern is the crops and the water supplies. Losing water mains is going to take a lot of labor to repair and get clean water flowing back into people's homes and businesses.

To be brutally honest, I think it's yet more politicizing of meaningless shit. If people weren't 24/7 focused on Texas and the politicization around it, people might be aware that Andrew Cuomo is under an active probe by the FBI and US Attorney.

Everyone wants to get their hits in for their snapback moment. Nobody's particularly concerned about what's really going on.

The worst part? Cruz's vacation had been planned months prior, the moment the Texas grid failed, he actually did hop on a plane and fly home. Don't have the faintest idea what his presence in Texas would/should accomplish. Honestly, think he should have just continued his vacation.

Like, what're the mayors of the impacted towns and cities doing? What's the Governor doing? The majority of the mayors of Texas's largest cities are Dems. What're they doing to help? See what I mean? Nobody cares. It's just a distraction.
