Right-wingers tend to applaud(or severely minimize) the state executing darkies, whether it be legally through capital punishment or through others means(like cops kneeling on their necks until dead). It's hard to escape the idea that the current iterations aren't just an extension of the evil that happened in the past. It's a different form, which makes the underlying feelings less obvious. But it doesn't take a Ta-Nehisi Coates to see the through-line.
Probably worth noting the right-wing libertarians in this thread(so far) aren't part of that group.
