it was the first election i was old enough to vote in tbh. i wanted to in 2006 but wasnt 18 yet

and yeah being where i was at the time it was Obama mania. he was a legit rockstar in 2008. i knew the magnitude of him being elected was going to be important but i really didn’t appreciate it until years later as much as i disagree with some of his admin’s policy

i had no money at the time being in undergrad and the recession in full swing otherwise i would have bet every last cent on Obama winning. it was like betting on Michael Jordan in the finals lmao

i knew it was big when i saw the pack of black guys i bought weed from and got my hair cut by handing out fliers and stumping for Obama. he actually came to campus, so this pack of eventual freshman midyear drop outs all got to meet obama. all nice guys, but funny juxtaposition.

DIXVILLE NOTCH, N.H. — Two tiny New Hampshire communities that vote for president just after the stroke of midnight on Election Day have cast their ballots, with one of them marking 60 years since the tradition began.

The results in Dixville Notch, near the Canadian border, were a sweep for former Vice President Joe Biden who won the town's five votes. In Millsfield, 12 miles to the south, President Donald Trump won 16 votes to Biden's five.

Normally, there would be a big food spread and a lot of media crammed into a small space to watch the voting, Tom Tillotson, town moderator in Dixville Notch, said last week. But that's no longer possible because of the coronavirus pandemic. It's also hard to observe the 60th anniversary of the tradition, which started in November 1960.

“Sixty years — and unfortunately, we can't celebrate it," he said.

Yep... Trump 16, Biden 10

It's all over now. :D

Real Chads get their news from JSP. I'll be here in PaRD spending my time watching the results alongside some of my favorite political pals.
