I also want to get my daughter a doggie but probably wait until we move and she's at least 1 or 2.

They can be cool, but I compare them to having a swimming pool. In the sense of when everything’s fine, they’re really enjoyable, however if you’re constantly having to add chemicals & clean the thing, it can be a real pain in the ass.
