I have brahma hen and 3 leg horn and rhode island red mixes. Sold off most my flock heading into winter will start chicks in spring. Ya its mostly predators that scare me I have no rooster

Some pet ownership, even if "well done", is quite sad. I think the vast majority of dogs and cats enjoy very happy, healthy, and fulfilling lives.

Personally, I wouldn't own a fish or a bird because I find their existence within tanks and cages to be quite sad. However, this is of course a projection of human values/perspective, so in-fact fish could be entirely happy swimming around in a tank. I certainly have no idea.

as long as they are looked after well why not? You forget we eat meat and consume alot of animal products. A lion will eat that cow or a hawk will grab that chicken if its in the wild. Don't pretend otherwise we are animals ourselves. I do think a lot can be improved though.

There are a ton of fish sold in per stores that shouldn't be sold in pet stores. Redtailed catfish, pacu, oscars in most cases. oscars are probably the most abused fish. Maybe the common pleco, which shouldn't be sold in stores.

I am not a vegan. I tried it once and the results were damn excellent for my health.

I love the taste of meat. But at the same time I feel sorry for the animals being imprisoned and then butchered. Breaking out of conditioning ain’t easy.
