All of what you posted is pretty typical American prices.

It almost perfectly matches what I get at WalMart every week lol

I live in a place that has an average personal income of 48,288.

Pack of three bell peppers is 14 dollars, block of cheese is 17, 2L of pop is 16.50, etc., etc.

I no longer eat meat with the exception of some chicken unless its something iv killed myself at this point. When I travel I ship up action packers full of food. Additional savings far out weighs extra bag fees. The people who actually make average income likley don't travel and they perpetually suffer.

I do have an Aero garden for herbs a s spices since most things are not available here.

Works well, minimal maintenance.

this year tho i built a couple cold frames in raised beds, so i'll be growing lettuce, kale, basil, and a few other odds and ends all winter.

Sorry to hear that for those people. I'd imagine the weather is probably crap too. At least you're probably stacking. Personally that's what I would do if i was still single and childless. Do it for 5 years for a nice nest egg and then move down to a non frozen tundra shithole.

I remember awhile back when I worked for the gov't being able to take a job in sub-arctic Alaska for close to 6 figures...literally no one was biting on that posting, it just kept coming back week after week lol.

I love the north. My wife and I are always out atving and camping, also have a 7x9 canvas tent that's much larger that I just move spot to spot depending what lake I want to be on.

I love fishing pulling around my komotik by skidoo. December January and February as months where nothing happens though, but I typically leave for a month and a half during that time. We get an automatic 20 paid days for holidays during that time period that don't use vacation or lieu time. I just go skiing and visit family.

We can't staff. No one wants to live the life style. It is minus 65C during some months. I always have skin coming off my face.

I would take a job in Sub Arctic Alaska any day. They have beautiful peaks. Closest I have been is Inuvik, Akavik and Tuk
