My entire group didn't watch hockey or basketball this year, I can't think of one instance where someone said it was because of the NBA being "woke". Although anecdotal evidence, I think it's likely the majority of those that did not tune in share that same attitude.

Metric might be getting shittier but it's still how a lot of these entities make money. You have to prove eyeballs to advertisers. If ESPN can't prove those then less adv dollars, meaning less dollars getting back to the leagues.

It's one of the reasons why i'v heard talks to actually freeze caps or even lower them for 1-2 years.
