Many who fall into the 'conservative' bin in CA are effectively liberals in the context of Texas politics.

But yes, I think the internal migration from CA to TX is not that big of a factor for Texas becoming more purple. The rapid urbanization of Texas, coupled with the suburbs turning on the GOP in the age of Trump, is by far the biggest factor if you ask me.

Biden is the exact kind of candidate that appeals to those people. Look at all of the "Biden is a racist because of the superpredator legislation" comments. He's not some bastion of liberalism. He's a middle of the road Democrat with a long history of doing things that Republicans love.
