The issue largely boils down to the following:
- All mainstream media is owned by political parties
- All mainstream politicians are owned by corporations
- Social media are leading to polarization
Apart from the third point, this is hardly news. I am not implying that Barrack Obama is responsible for it, but I am convinced that Obama and Trump are both merely passers-by in a system that is much bigger than them.
