I know everyone is thinking it, so I'm just going to come right out and point to the elephant in the room: Desegregation is what allowed this to happen. If the races had just stayed fully segregated all the time, then it would be impossible for anyone to become the victim of a racist incident.

Anyone who is in favor of desegregation is, by definition, also in favor of increasing the rate of hate crimes.
