What methodology was used to determine the swine flu number, because we didnt do mass individual wine flu testing like we are with covid.

Did you not see the Wiki quote? Lets try this again, we all know we have to be patient with some PARDians.

Quote
CDC illness and death estimates from April 2009 to April 2010, in the US are as follows:

between 43 million and 89 million cases of 2009 H1N1 occurred between April 2009 and 10 April 2010. The mid-level in this range is about 61 million people infected with 2009 H1N1.
between about 195,000 and 403,000 H1N1-related hospitalizations occurred between April 2009 and 10 April 2010. The mid-level in this range is about 274,000 2009 H1N1-related hospitalizations.
between about 8,870 and 18,300 2009 H1N1-related deaths occurred between April 2009 and 10 April 2010. The mid-level in this range is about 12,470 2009 H1N1-related deaths.[192][193][194]

In bold. It's an estimate that's why there's a big gap between the lowest and highest number. You like the lowest number that's still 43 M cases vs less than 2 M COVID-19 cases as it stands.

I didn't work at CDC but I believe they're capable enough to document suspected flu-like cases.

Are you implying you do not trust the CDC? If that's true I rest my case.

Comparing the two viruses and responses is nonsensical. The R0 isn't the same, death rate, incubation rate, etc, not the same, it's not even apples to oranges.

Secondly a change in an executive office administration doesn't lead to some monumental shifts in policy or manuals being re-written on infectious diseases and responses. Scientists or medical professionals are not somehow being limited or changed procedure 24 hours after Trump was elected president.

It's an extremely low-iq dig at Trump considering many first world nations in western Europe who claim to have better healthcare than us also struggled. Trump is not god nor is he all knowing and omnipresent. If you want to blame Trump then you should be blaming government as a whole, including congress, state governments, health administration officials, otherwise you're just an opportunistic hack looking to score points against the other side in a time of crisis.

I'm pretty sure that's not the case at all. White kids consistently outperform poor kids.

Trump ignoring those procedures and firing his staff who are familiar with the procedures is significant. Similarly disbanding the infrastructure to track and assess biological threats is significant.

Some states have done well, others have done poorly, and the federal response lead by Trump has been garbage.

That's not what I'm saying at all. I'm saying that comparing a methodology that will capture far more cases, like antibody testing of donated blood, will always result in a far higher number than the confirmed by direct test numbers you are quoting for coronavirus.

Basically youre comparing the most sensitive method of testing for h1n1 against the least sensitive method for covid, which is why I wanted to know the methodology for h1n1
