Being a senator means you get free money regardless of how effective your work is. When you make ordinary people more dependent on the government, you're giving yourself more power. And if you convince people that more centralized power is the only answer, than you create a positive feedback loop and keep yourself in power forever.

Thus you create a slew of political actors who simply exist to cause crises so that they can pretend to cure them while pocketing a portion of the money expended in the process.

Want to become an enemy of the system? Endanger their profit margins by exposing the truth about their motives.

my point is we had doctors sounding the alarm from China at the time and China made them disappear. iirc quite few CEOs resigned at the time, and the market was already looking for a reason to reset. it wasnt hard to connect the dots. it’s not like he was on the board at some company and got the wink and nod to dump (although he probably had that situation happen being a politician anyway)

One needs only to look at the quality of life in Nancy Pelosi's 12th/home district. If she was a Republican, the whole scheme would be blatantly obvious.
