I played D3 a little bit every once in a while and, I've seen a lot of comments like you guys and it reinforces my belief that you just can't fuck up your launch period even as a "Game as a Service" type of game. People rarely give second chances. I think only Destiny and Warframe and Rainbow Six Siege were ever able to re-acquire a substantial fanbase after a not so good early reception. And in all their cases, there were MASSIVE changes that probably took so much crunch time during a period of development you wouldn't think would be present.


While i agree with all of this i was SHOCKED at how well D3 for playstation sold. i knew like 10 people who bought that..... and it was dogshit.

I was done trying to like D3 when Cain got killed by a butterfly. Played for a couple months because I spent 60$ on it. Did make some $ off of it tho.

i remember on release night someone said "Cain will be rescued hundreds of thousands of times tonight". then he just died for no reason so that we could instead have his niece or w/e fill the same roll.... bravo on the story devs....

I was gonna buy D3, because you could sell game items for real money. Then I read that Bnet or Blizz was taking 15%. So I waited a bit longer to see how that would work out... and then they canceled the selling items for real money.
