You're daft if you think he didn't have say in the matter.

Again, you don't get a nickname like that for enriching the neighborhood.

He could have a lot more to say on the matter given his position (within a revolution) and the situation. Evidence of him trying to keep out of it is commendable.

The nickname dude.. why are we talking about him at the same time ?.. Dude was a weirdo.

The nickname dude.. why are we talking about him in the same sentence anyways.. Dude was a weirdo.

Weirdo isn't the word I use, but i get it.

Che is peddled on universities and campuses as some righteous anti establishment messiah. I spent a decent amount of time researching Che and didn't like what I found.

He's not admirable, he's not a martyr or a messiah, he was a power hungry fool no different than the rest of the schmucks mentioned in the same sentence.

Che's list of accomplishments:

1. made Cuba possible, thanks a lot for that communist shithole douche

2. failed revolution in Bolivia, hunted down by a Nazi, killed like a dog

You aren't important. That's not something that should concern you in the slightest.

Che is an important figure in recent human history. In the same breathe as Mao, Hitler, Stalin, etc.

Yet at the same time, he's in the same breath as Lenin, Trotsky, Nat Turner, Spartacus and Gandhi.

Don't forget John Brown.

I'm not expecting you to like what you find when even politico is starting with the controversy of Che shirts being capitalized (yay win capitalism). I'll have to say that I'm just scratching the surface for now. The dude is pretty interesting to read more about :)

I was in the same boat. There is a bit of an allure once you get started - he seems interesting at face value.

It was a pile of shit once I dove in.

Except this is a misnomer. He didn't give the orders at la Cabana. He wasn't involved in the trials at all. Nor was la Cabana butchery. The people who were executed were those government officials who were found guilty of torture, rape and murder.

Or normal people who most likely were labeled these things without actual proof or any sort of due process and executed because of political affiliation.

But I’m sure you uncritically accept “reasons” for why they committed injustice because they’re your side.

Theodore Roosevelt is a good biography. Awesome dude. One of my personal heroes.

Andrew Jackson has a very interesting life, and you get to witness through his life that the roots of the tree are as deep as they are tall, in terms of light and darkness. Controversial.

Interested in real literature involving oppression and colonialism than Frantz Fannon would be your man.

I would just watch The Motorcycle Diaries to learn about Che.
