I'll respond to the only part of that post that actually stays on topic.

Quoting you and giving my interpretation isn't a fabrication.

Why is this a negative thing? Nobody owes you a conversation.

It's not even removing conversation. People who aren't open to conversation aren't going to have them regardless of if you give them a badge that says "fuck off I don't want to talk right now".

I don't disagree. I'm just saying that people against this feel like people owe them conversations.

So I was reading an article here about a discussion some university was having on transgederism, feminism and the patriarchy and it looks like they have people wearing badges indicating how open they are to having a discussion which looks terrible for the future of education.

Personally I'm of the opinion that anything under the sun is open to criticism and nothing is sacred. This strain of cancerous progressiveness that attempts to police intellectual discourse that may be perceived as offensive needs to die. I don't think universities and colleges should be a place where you can avoid being challenged on the things you believe and to create such an environment undermines the very idea of having educational institutions in the first place. But maybe i'm just old and out of touch? What do our resident pardians think of the system below?

Why would someone who "needs" to wear a yellow or red (read snowflake) badge... even go to a "discussion", if they can't handle, discussing it?

Those wearing snowflake badges, are definitely NOT going to be prepared for the real world. They will crumble the first time anyone verbally confronts them.
This whole snowflake generation has been mis-reared/mis-educated to expect that there are actual safe spaces in public.

No ones really against this it’s just hilarious how intellectually fragile these people are.

I mean for fucks sake you need a badge for someone not to talk to you? Ever try just say excuse me and walking away?

Yeah, I can just see a new-fangled badge wearer saying: I'm sorry Mr. Rapist, I'm wearing my red badge, you'll have to find someone else. :/

If someone wants to go to a "discussion" about anything, they should be prepared to hear differing viewpoints.

The "safe space" is at home where you CAN have the world... just the way you want it.

Seems like an awfully efficient system.

It is an efficient system, that absolutely does NOT prepare one for the real world. These are the kids that will end up committing suicide when they get cyber-bullied.

/e When someone is just walking down the street, anywhere in the world... they are ON THEIR OWN, and they better have a skill set that allows them to survive... going out in public.

Does every situation ever need to "prepare people for the real world?
