Study the history of labor unions and it is visible that they did this exact thing. They paid for it with their lives though, which were unnecessarily hard.

Unions are all but dead now; corporate power is ultimate. We have chosen authoritarian capitalism over democracy for several elections now and our voice is becoming quieter and quieter.
