I was born addicted and have never drank or used but it's in me. That urge haunts me every single day as does all of the pain of where I grew up, what happened there, to them, and eventually to me it's in our blood, in our bloodlines

I have to be extremely careful with everything i do because I can get addicted to anything, you add in extreme (and I mean extreme) poverty during early development and abuse and neglect from people that had that done to them and there really is no escape mentally

To fix problems we have to better understand them and the causes and with Natives it's an especially tragic and misunderstood issue from those that have not studied or have kneejerk reactions to deny or whitewash what happened and the consequences of that treatment existing to this very day

Well more land isn't gonna help them is it? They need proper social programs etc. They kinda fucked themselves with the whole sovereignty over reservations thing. Another unequal treaty considering federal law still rules there and the Assimilative Crimes Act makes it so that even state laws are essentially federal law on reservations. So basically they have to obey the USGov but get almost no assistance from them.
