Why would they need translators?
Kim speaks fluent english, he attended private schools in the western world under fake names just like his brothers.
I think he will request translators anyway to see if they try to modify the message.

Perhaps he's just more comfortable in his native language or perhaps he has a thick accent.

translators are always there just in case, thats standard procedure

Or he's trying to represent his country on the world stage. A lot of prime ministers and foreign ministers speak English, but they speak their native tongue around us in press conferences(and other situations).

A successful summit results in more meetings and more chances to engage in diplomacy.

I'm cautiously optimistic. The United States will inevitably bring up denuclearization, but I'm hopeful Trump doesn't become discouraged or too impatient if the North Koreans don't immediately concede nuclear development.

I agree that this is his biggest moment in his presidency so far. Most of his presidency thus far has been middling domestic disputes that likely won't have a significant long-term effect on the country one way or another.

Good luck Trump, hope you did some research before going in there.
