the lack of a Muslim doctrine of the Quran is a flawed argument. Most Muslims, like most Christians, ignore the parts of the doctrine that are socially problematic already. They just haven't had 1000 extra years for the clergy to proscribe that doctrine explicitly like Christianity has. The bible justifies all sorts of things we don't pay attention to because they're socially and legally unacceptable, pretending this is only because the clergy tell us this through acceptable scripture every sunday is silly, and ignores Christian outliers that ignore prescribed doctrine among the various sects.
