My post was a reference to the trans discussion thread, where HC bent over backwards as an apologist for the trans milo who was calling everyone racist and transphobic in youtube videos, and HC was pretending it wasn't attention seeking behavior, etc.
Negative attention he got from the provocative videos was merely "not the kind he was seeking"
Now thats its a conservative speaker, Its a totally different story.
HC muses that Milo Y shouldn't expect anything different than thugs threatening him and shutting down his speaking events.
There's a few things to clarify here:
For starters, Milo Yiannopoulos is a
self-described provocateur. He states himself that he is inflammatory and thus seeking attention. It's basically his career. That's very different than Milo Stewart who has never claimed such things, and is just living his life. People make assumptions about whether Milo Stewart is being sincere or if it's an act, but that's all it is: assumptions. In the case of Milo Yiannopoulos though, there is no assumption for histrionics, as he's admitting it himself.
Also, just because I recognize that Milo Yiannopoulos is a professional provocateur doesn't mean that I'm supportive of every single response he gets, of feel that he deserves anything that comes his way. I'm just saying it's disingenuous to play the part of the professional provocateur and then play the part of the victim in the aftermath.
