...home schooled kids still mingle with the public . We have an outbreak here in the Amish community and as withdrawn as they are they still come into contact with the non-Amish in our shops and their roadside stands .

Definitely true. I was responding more to the part where he said

"do you believe the state should be allowed to make it mandatory for your children to have vaccinations if they are to attend school or is that a violation of your freedoms as parents?"

I'm not as good at quoting since I haven't been on PaRD in... months? Maybe longer. Hope you're all doing well :)

Polio Signs and symptoms, which generally last one to 10 days, include:
Fever.
Sore throat.
Headache.
Vomiting.
Fatigue.
Back pain or stiffness.
Neck pain or stiffness.
Pain or stiffness in the arms or legs.

smallpox Signs and symptoms:
Fever
Overall discomfort
Headache
Severe fatigue
Severe back pain
Vomiting, possibly

Nothing much dangerous, certainly not enough to make vaccination mandatory.

...clueless as ever . I remember the last victims of the polio epidemic and the iron lung .

So you haven't heard of either...

Smallpox is the first major disease to have been wiped out by public-health measures

Was it mandatory ?

well, i won't decide for the rest of the world, i am not totally closed to the idea of making mandatory vaccination but i still don't see valuable reasons to force parents to vaccinate the kids, in my country.

Polio and small pox cant live outside a human meaning once its gone its gone no known animal or plants known to be carriers

The only current samples of small pox and polio are in some cdc lab

I know in the late 90's i got the polio vaccine due to mandated vaccinations required to enter the united states

Included mmr etc etc.

As far as mandated i dont think so but the second a safe polio vaccine was created 99% of the population went and got it

During Microbiology we spent sometime on this.

But yah the list of symptoms a giant troll or something ??

You mean other than preventing children from getting debilitating and potentially lethal diseases?
