I don't know how it is in Florida, but in Nevada you are supposed to immediately notify a police officer that you're carrying a firearm if you're pulled over or stopped while concealed carrying.
florida's sop is if the officer inquires about a firearm, the ccw is required to inform the officer. the officer then asks the carrier to not touch the firearm and to tell him where it's located. the officer then basically goes in whichever direction is deemed necessary. not ask why he has a firearm on him and then threaten to shoot him in the back... some of the newer sheriffs around here are the highschool jocks who couldnt make it in to any other line of work and still wanted the ''authority'' they carried in highschool as the popular kids.. there are still some good cops, but the majority of them coming into the force are almost as crooked as one can get.. hell, Jeff Dawsey (Sheriff of Citrus County, FL) is known to be a coke head and crooked as they come...
