are you jumping up and down if a father let's a kid play with a real gun (just showing the kid some responsibility with guns)?
are you just as jumpy on other issues? do other people have no right to express their opinions?
you definitely have to work on your social skills

Well a father shouldn't let his kid "play" with a real gun. Guns are not toys, they're dangerous tools that need to be respected as such.

The principal has the right to have his own personal views, but those are just that, personal. What he cannot do is push his political agenda unto impressionable young children.

But they shouldn't have to do anything. The fact that they are doing this shit is ridiculous. Just like all of those kids getting arrested for eating poptarts and saying their name in sign language.

The buyback was voluntary, nobody had to do anything. What are you going on about?

ITT someone who didn't read the article.

Whether it was voluntary or not is irrelevant. The principal admitted that the reason he is doing this, is to prevent them from becoming gun owners when they grow up.

Which is even more ridiculous. "Own a gun? You deserve to die!"

That according to your photographer, the police are killing people and this somehow has to do with guns; and subsequently gun buybacks.

Yes, he openly admits to brainwashing these children so they fear and hate guns when they grow up, thus making them much more likely to support Bloomberg and Feinstein's agenda.

That's ok that you didn't, but you should next time before you base an entire thread of arguments on something that isn't even happening and make yourself look pretty silly.

His reasons are what's irrelevant. Maybe secretly he's actually a toy gun collector and this is all a plot to build up his collection. If the child thinks the books and bike raffle is worth giving away his toy, then so be it. The principal is teaching them good bartering skills, giving them a chance to consider the worth of their possessions and how they can increase this worth through smart exchanges.

I'm going to become the superintendent of a school district and ask that my students voluntarily turn in all of their LGBT paraphernalia and I'll give them books in return, and even a chance to win a bike! I hope that this will prevent them from becoming gay or supporting gay rights when they grow up.

But no, I'm not homophobic you guys! I love gays, that's why I'm doing this!

If his goal were to increase their bartering skills, he could have picked something else to confiscate, like baseball cards.
