Regardless of what you believe, I think it's absolutely incredible how one man, having no money and using no amount of force whatever, drastically changed the course of mankind in just a few short years.

in 2013 some people have warped all meaning of logic/reasoning/evidence/knowledge to mean things that have nothing to do with logic/reasoning/evidence/knowledge

see "scientific miracles of the quaran" for an example

some people don't use logic and reasoning. They are here for the conviction of spreading their own way of life.

see Richard Dawkins for example

Yet Jesus was still apprehended by the Romans and not a single Roman of credibility was able to document these miracles? No one besides those who would later write the bible made any documentation of the 500 or so people Jesus brought back from the dead?

MAN WHY DON'T MANUSCRIPTS SURVIVE TWO THOUSAND YEARS AND THE COLLAPSE OF EMPIRES IN PERFECT CONDITION?
How inconsiderate of them to deteriorate/get burned/get thrown away by barbarians who ransacked the empire and couldn't read a lick...

My point is that it's quite a leap to believe Jesus was divine when there is obviously some record of his life. I mean, we don't think gods were present during the Trojan War despite what the Illiad and Odyssey have to say. Plenty of people don't even believe Muhammad was visited by an angel in a cave. So why is Jesus exempt when we have no other evidence of his divinity except what's given in the New Testament?

Obviously this priest has no clue about the bible since he believes that the New Testament Synoptic Gospels were written by eyewitnesses.

yes we must respect the sacred scriptures (moises law or Old Testament).
new testament (law of love instituted by Jesus), we extract only the moral content.
other information are cultural and ethnic than 4 thousand years ago.

You have to admit the portrayal of god in the old testament is very different than Jesus.

Still the same God. The message was always the same. God simply changed his methods with Jesus.
