...save your childish trolling for another thread . The churches I attend give whatever monies they can to help where it is most needed and unlike you I feel no need to highlight my own contributions . I try to keep my left hand from knowing what my right hand is doing .

That way half of you thinks it's a handjob.

What I find most annoying about these threads is that the anti-American ramblings of a few, let's say, "zealots" let the right continue with their fantasy that they are the only American patriots.

And those that say "OH LOL LOOK QUIT CRYING PEOPLE DIE ELSEWHERE TOO."

I remember my brother waking me to the news the first tower was hit, which I shrugged off as an anomaly, though very curious.

Then the second plane hit.

I watched numbly, helpless in my simultaneous instant anger and unassuaged guilt at failing to somehow prevent it.

I cried when the both towers fell.

I failed at smoking cessation.

I went to work 3 hours late, and didn't even care.

Honestly, I'm at a complete loss for words for that day.

I think he's just saying that the "horror" seems so horrible because it happened to us.  Sure, we hear about genocide in Africa and the Middle East very day, oh well.  Wait, some AMERICANS died? THE HORROR!

I still remember the horror and dread when i saw the towers crumbling.

I was eleven years old staring at the screen in Estonia. I was soaked in tears as my heart skipped beats and i literally stopped breathing. Even imaging that kind of level of personal suffering was -and still is- unbearable for me.

My heart goes out for you, USA.

It's interesting how subjectively humans calculate the emotional value of an event.
