He’s kind crazy guy yells at clouds but it’s fine. But yeah I agree with your later point, being cancelled for a political view isn’t the same as being moderated for being a dickhead.

I remember early and mid 2010s videos were crazy. Homophobic and racial slurs everywhere.
Like YouTubes top uploader Pewdiepie couldn't go a full sentence without being offensive. Facebook was kind of the same.
You could tell they weren't moderating at all.
Then snap to 2017ish and all of the sudden they started enforcing their terms of service, actually moderating. Etc etc.

I feel like around that time is when people started complaining about cancel culture. Mid 2010s ISH.
Pretty sure they were just being degenerate bone heads though.

Lol that was cancel culture. The most extreme example of it actually.

People were getting banned everywhere for “misinformation”. Some of the things people were saying to get those bans was total nonsense… but some of them are now prevailing theories.

Trying to silence misinformation is arguably the most antiscientific act you can commit.

The role of the scientific community, above all else, is to combat the very concept of authority over truth. But during covid a great deal(an overwhelming majority) of people who call themselves scientists tried to become that authority. It’s a stain on the history of science. Anyone who supported it is a moron.

I watched two tech channels that stopped mentioning it all together.
