I lived through that time period too and I also did my research. 3% chance of dying from covid vs several orders of magnitude less likely chance of complications from vaccines that were being developed. Those were the facts that I worked with when I chose to get the shots.

I was on the flip side of your scenario where I had to tell people get vaccinated or lose your job. Wasn't my call but if idiots would just stay at home for two weeks when they got sick we wouldn't have had to go that far to deal with assholes who think its OK to go around infecting as many people as they can.
