How does one quantify "cause" of a crime?
The moment social scientists start making leaps like that, their statistics become invalid.
We can make correlations and point out trends and facts without identifying the underlying causation, which is usually either confounded or it adds up to a result you don't like and would label racist
For example, poor white Americans have a lower violent crime rate than rich black Americans. Violent crime is overwhelming stratified by race and easily a far better predictor. Indeed, the rate of black male incarceration is higher at every single income level than for white male incarceration at any income bracket.
In particular, second generation wealth. The sons of black families in the richest 1% have about the same offender rate as sons of white families in the lowest income bracket.

Cause is not something you determine through statistical evidence. It can give clues or reinforce a conclusion, but the dynamics of a system have to be understood on their own merits. I think most sane people accept that its a cultural issue, not caused by societal treatment, not caused by genetics, not caused by poverty, but the product of a culture inflicted on its own people.

I gave you an example of white rednecks who went around and killed people. The KKK. How about the 60s~80s CIA and FBI? Majority white. Killed plenty of people it was just "legal".

I do not think anyone has the right to kill anyone.. poor or not. I am just arguing that race or culture isn't as much of a factor as you think it is.

I never said there were not ANY cultural factors, though. I just think focusing on race (and by extension a culture of a particular race) is racism. By definition.

As for statistics. Statistics lie, people lie, biases affect all statistics.
