I'm interested in politics because I have certain beliefs and positions. So I can't ever join a cult around one specific politician, because politicians will always change their stances based on political trends.

And so I'll applaud aspects of the Trump presidency which align with my beliefs/positions and I'll oppose him when he opposes them. I'm not sure how any self-respecting man could support a politician in opposing that man's own beliefs, but I've seen it before and I'm sure I'll see it again.

Being a lackey for someone who is going against your beliefs/values is kind of beta.
