He was offered more than acceptable peace deal yet he threw at least 400000 men into meat grinder (according to Trump), now he is seeking peace talks, guess it's conditions won't be the same. This is not how you defend a country, this war is not existential for Ukrainian elites otherwise they would send their sons to the frontlines and join them there. Now they demonstrate their patriotic feelings and Bandera banners somewhere in Europe. And yes, it was Russia to continuously expand through all these 25 years, turning every single country around into evil. 400k dead and wounded is bad, but 4 mln murdered and imprisoned in Bucha or Katyn style is even worse.

Zelenski choose the best option he could, although it wasnt good.
