Israel continually and regularly strikes Syrian airports and assets within Syria. This isn't a recent phenomena but has been happening for years, just type in google and you will see dozens of articles from 2018, 2022, 2023, etc. I would understand if there were missile barrages coming from Syria like from Hamas, but Syrian Army is hanging on by a thread to begin with, they do not have the capacity or will to fuck with Israel. Do they pass on weapons and have close ties to Hezbollah? Oh no doubt, so i understand why Israel is motivated to strike, but my personal opinion is when they are basically hanging on by a thread from turning into Libya 2.0 you take it easy to not tip the fragile power. No one wants the goat lovers in power.

This is an example from today. It's possible this is 100% true but it's also possible Iran is rushing aid to SAA to reinforce to fight off the rebels. I mean Israel just announced a ceasefire with Hezbollah, logically it would make way more sense this aid is being rushed to fight off the rebels.

I guess Israel got caught by surprise by this recent offense, just like the SAA itself. I'm just sceptical because Israel very evidently has no interest whatsoever in Assad getting toppled by jihadists who are fervently militant and antisemitic. Heck, Israel can clearly have no interest in Syria getting even just destabilized.

The previous status quo was perfect for Israel, with relative calm under a wounded Assad who poses no threat to them whatsoever and who, out of a position of weakness, gives them free reign to strike targets in his own country as they wish. I just don't buy that Israel would be foolish enough to do something as self-defeating as supporting the HTS and their ilk.

I hate to say it, but I'm getting to the point where I don't really care about the middle east and it's constant fighting.
We DO need to stay allied with Israel ofc, or the rest of the middle east would over run them in a day or two.

I agree with the former half, but not the latter. I want us to declare independence from our tiny master, Isreal. Fuck 'em. But we should probably disable their nukes first before we peace out.

Can Assad stop providing weapons to hezbollah?

He isn't providing weapons to them, but allowing them to operate in his territory. Recent news says that he is reaching out to Israel for help and will expel IRGC & proxies from Syria in return

quick, some Left Wing power structure needs to launder money and spill countless gallons of blood in some random ass warzone, fire up the money printers because Trump is orange, or something

Sure, let's blame Democrats because rebels in some shithole country started taking territory. Lol.

My X timeline is suddenly full of bot / influencer type accounts with all kinds of flags who were stanning for Israel/Ukraine before, now stanning for “The Rebels”. I’ve seen videos of Russian speaking “Rebels” explaining what they are doing in Aleppo with Tajik/Uzbek accents. “Syrian opposition” my ass.

I’ve no idea which country controls these X bots (I’m assuming Americans? Israelis don’t openly support Ukraine?), but they definitely coordinate and don’t mind siding with literal islamist savages. Surprising how relaxed NATO countries seem to be with key NATO ally Turkey supporting these people. Wild stuff.

I mean I get it, enemy of my enemy. All that stuff. But not these guys, Jesus Christ!

Interesting to see reports of the Uzbek group Katibat al-Tawheed wal-Jihad’s in the Aleppo Operation. Starlinks, brand new humvees, tablets, FPV drones - they were excellently prepared. Ukranians and Uzbeks can speak Russian to each other to communicate during training.

What a wierd world we live in. Ukranians training the next generation Jihadi Johns to help Americans close a supply route through Syria so Iran cannot send Hezbollah arms to attack Israel. Did I get that right?

Russia is at risk of losing its Khmeimim air base near Latakia and its extremely important navy facility in Tartus. Its a toss-up whether the American-funded, Israeli-led, Ukrainian HUR trained rebel forces make a dash towards Hama and then directly southwards towards Hom, thus cutting off the Russian controlled northwest, or push towards the southeast to effectively blockade the Iran/Hezbollah supply route.

Either way, I envision the Russians redoubling their bombing efforts near the rebel spearhead while the Israelis do the same to Hezbollah leaders chilling out in Damascus. Gotta love the integral dynamics in proxy wars!

Without the Russian air base Assad is done. The Russian Air Force is what kept him in power for the last 15 years.

Does Israel actually want Assad out?who’s replacing him? No one good imo.
