It's so funny reading people post things like "look at Trump in this softball interview with a crank who is very aligned with his worldview, how could anyone call Trump a fascist". Then there's several Cabinet members from Trump's first term who explicitly don't endorse or explicitly call him a fascist. This includes his own Vice President, longest serving chief of staff, multiple Defense secretaries, chair of the Joint Chiefs, etc. These people spent months intimately working with him, and you guys are won over by a softball podcast interview.

I think the main point here is you people are fucking dopes who are easily conned. You are quicker to believe a noted conman and a well known conspiratorial and crank podcaster over numerous appointees of the former president, who were actually serious people before Trump ever hired them. It's almost cute how gullible and easily conned you are.

This is a useful demonstration of how the right-wing has become the populist, low-trust, anti-institution party.

There's a myriad of figures who worked for Trump who either don't support him or explicitly say he's threat. Men who have spent decades in the military, who have climbed to the top of the military hierarchy. Others who have been in different public service for decades. John Kelly became a general and lost his son in war. Mark Milley was the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Mike Pence was in Congress for a while, served as a loyal Vice President, refused to overturn the Constitution, and thus Trump and his cultists hate him.

The opinions of those men, even combined, is easily dismissed when the Fear Factor guy does a softball interview with Trump and Trump says some normal things throughout.

This sort of inversion of credibility happens everywhere on the right these days. And this alone is reason enough to oppose Republicans at every level of government.
