Its a non-disavowable faction of the party at least. Donald Trump can cut off overt racists from his party by saying he denounces them, repudiates them, basically fuck'em. Democrats have a few fringes they're willing to cut off, used to be they would denounce overt communists but they've gone silent on that for the most part, but they're definitely willing to say fuck'em to satanists, "post birth abortionists" or whatever kooky fringe. But its hard for me to dream up these examples, because the reality is Democrats have a lot of onerous factions they aren't willing to overtly disavow. And that even includes aforementioned commies like antifa, islamofacists and their genocidal antisemites, the most noxious transgender firebrands, etc. They're that afraid of losing their tenuous grasp on michigan when it comes to antisemitism. And they're afraid of demotivating the ~60% of the democratic base who are more sympthetic to Palestinians.

I think, and its just a gut feeling, that the democratic brass isn't afraid of losing a pre-op transvestite #freepalestine antica commie's vote, it's the votes they take with them if they jump ship. they wont jump ship to the GOP, but they'll dissuade democratic votes. the interesting part is it's fairly rare i see someone who's just one of those things. the PCM meme of "emily" is wierdly representative, literal antifa lgbtqa+ commie free palestiners, all in one umm i guess you'd call it a person. and oddly that one person somehow commands the votes of dozens of the "normal" liberals in their social sphere. i think its somewhat a symptom of liberals living more terminally online on average than the GOP voters. GOP voters sit down at the end of the day and post a few facebook memes, Emily is on twitter, threads, instagram, and reddit for hours daily. these social threads run much deeper. no one cares if uncle rufus is "SO DONE" with the state republicans, but god forbid Emily calls out the town council for being transphobic. idk its friday and im spitballing.
