When I said "they" in what you quoted me on I was talking about CITIZENS/NEIGHBORS deciding to leave their cars open.

Remember in Los Angeles how they were telling people to just leave your car unlocked and the trunk open so you don't get your windows/trunk busted in.

i don't lock my car doors so that incase someone wants to steal my watch or sunglasses or whatever they don't also have to break my window in the process... it's kinda the same thing i guess.

but with my luck they probably wouldn't check to see if the doors were locked before smashing the glass...

It seems like good advice to me. If someone wants the fob to my car and they are willing to break into my house to get it, I'd rather it be near the door so they can grab it and leave.

If someone wakes me up asking for my key fob I'm going to give it to them. I just want them to take what they came for and leave.
