Is a draft without a war declaration a violation of the 13th amendment? All I've found is SCOTUS precedence from WW1 era that it's not during times of war. My understanding is US hasn't made formal war declaration since WWII. Maybe 'war' is loosely fit here.
Not a legal expert but considering the draft happened for Vietnam, when there was no declaration of war, is a crystal clear precedent that they can draft you without declaring war.
