If you want to look at it as a business contract then you have to see it as a partnership. Both parties contribute to the partnership equally but perhaps in different ways. When that partnership ends, it’s a 50/50 split.

It’s called a prenuptial agreement. As long as the terms of the prenup are adhered to, that’s possible. Also, you can’t threatens someone safety or well being.

you can't just rescind a contract at any point and receive the benefits

I’m curious to see how you would define the role of a woman.

This is pretty much a non-controversial topic and yet here you are trolling again. Stay on topic instead of going on one of your crazy tangents.

Clearly you’re wrong. In the USA you can. Especially in the case if one party broke the terms of that contract, the other party can seek to dissolve that contract.

breaking terms yes, but this is where conservatives point out their disagreements with no fault divorce

It all comes down to the judges discretion anyways. A prenup can be null for many reasons.

I meant to only quote this

a contract in which one party can end and reap the benefits due to no fault on the other person would be a terrible contract is my point

Here’s a hypothetical situation for you.

Two professionals marry, later in their marriage they decide one of them should be a a stay at home parent to raise their kids. The one that keeps on working excels professionally. They decide to divorce for whatever reason. Should the SAHP not be entitled to 1/2 the marital assets?

I don't support divorce for 'whatever reason' personally. I would need a more justified reason otherwise the contract is pointless from a business perspective

Well, If you want to look at marriage as transactional, maybe it’s not for you.
