There is no agreed upon definition of consciousness, as the hard problem of consciousness is currently a metaphysical problem.

In this case consciousness should not even be discussed at all, with no consensus. Defining consciousness by a certain level of cognition or awareness is genocidal rhetoric.

The lack of consensus is central to the discourse surrounding abortion though, whether it be consciousness or "When does life begin?".

You're totally right. We've been approaching the issue from the wrong side all along. We should just start performing vasectomies on all the males at around age 12 or so. Women haven't learned to close their legs for thousands of years so we should just nip this in the bud so to speak.

you joke, but scripture pretty clearly calls for women to bear as many kids as they can, for god. a tale as old as mankind, we must outbreed our enemies, for the glory of god.

can you imagine living in a tribal society, the women sit around a campfire all day, they're all 100% synced up on their mentrual cycles, which by extension means they're all ovulating at the same time. the whole village knows it. all of the men collectively grow tense realizing 50 or so women are about to menstruate and get really mad, then 3 days after its all over they're all randy and demanding to be impregnated. all the dudes just wake up that morning and have a high five party.

biology has most people at a evolutionary point where sex and the want/need for it is almost always on the mind. But urges to stay warm and eat and fend off that Lion trying to eat you are more important survival skills and because we decided to stop the lion from eating us instead of just keep boning the chick thats why thank god our ancestors survived and why we live.

Now if our ancestors were too busy ensuring to be preggo 24/7 then ya lion ate those people already they are out of the gene pool
