I disagree. Cops don't see anyone that obeys the law, goes to work, is clean cut, etc., as any more of a threat than anyone else that behaves the same way.
We need to keep in mind that cops works the same areas, day after day. They learn the people in those areas.
On top of all that, cops have excellent technical gear. They can pul up a person's entire history in a second.
Studies have shown that to be false through implicit bias checks. Studies have also shown that it can be overcome through training. This is something we should obviously invest in because it makes society better for everyone.
At the end of the day, humans are really bad at understanding risk. If you have a 1 in a million chance of dying of disease X and action Y increases your risk of dying from disease X to 1 in 100,000, people will make irrational decisions involving action Y. This phenomenon applies to so many of our actions.
