Come on, there was no flattening the curve even before the George Floyd protests - there was a plateau on a far too high level.
Additionally, the development of the daily cases doesnt match the "it was all the protests' fault"-explanation either. There were huge protests in NY, Philly (PA), Chicago (IL) and Detroit (MI) which didnt lead to a spike in cases 1-2 weeks later. Similarly, cases in Arizona were already on the upswing when those protests started. And we know from various large protests in Europe that these outdoor gatherings contribute less to the spread of the virus than initially feared. So the fact that spiking case numbers around mid-June in Texas, Florida or Georgia match the timing of the BLM protests is most definitely a coincidence. Why should protests in Dallas or Atlanta spread the virus like crazy while those in NYC or Chicago dont?
plateau isnt flat? yes people didnt get with the program fast enough here. and yes you can violate all social distancing guidelines if you are peacefully protesting, we’ve discussed this plenty. if you want to have a small funeral service for an elderly family member who died in a nursing facility in new york or pennsylvania that isnt allowed.
regarding nyc de blasio commanded hospitals to not ask people if they went to peaceful protestors. all covid-19 cases are blamed on restaurants by him and cuomo now
