what means "the true size"? What is the scaling? Without any context this picture is useless...

.... You kidding right? True size is what the actual size is to sq km the representation of the Mercator projection would have us believe that countries like Russia seem x2 africa when infact they are smaller

Africa is a continent / many countries. Algeria is the largest country in Africa but only the 10th largest country in the world. That gas station is the largest country by far.
