By all accounts he is the most unhawkish of the bunch. i know that sounds incredible to believe. i would not hold my breath expecting any uturns.
Unhawkish in the spectrum of his ultra right 37th cabinet sure, but this is the cabinet that he had no choice but to promote because there was zero chance he would have Been PM otherwise
However as far as the political spectrum of Israel goes, his place is clear
The power grab and long war rhetoric fool the world but like I have said a few times, the Israeli population isn’t deaf to the implications of this rhetoric , that on the heels of the judicial branch attacks
I’ll hold my breath for progress, because why not
I actually hate how pro Saudi I have become since this all started because I despise that backwards ass oil money society - however they are in the right by backing the moderate PLO and using this as a starting place for the Abraham accords. I truly think that they were acting out of good faith, despite the reason being it serves their agenda as well.
True that there is just a dire lack of good faith actors on multiple fronts, and until that changes there isn’t a realistic reason to be optimistic. However With Netanyahu popularity in Israel decreasing to record breaking lows every week, and a Netanyahu backed Hamas soon to be wiped off the planet, from a statistical standpoint to the odds of good faith actors emerging only goes up
