Since when do politicians need to have the same level of wealth at 79 as the average populace at 65?
He's been a senator and representative, both of which pay significantly more an average wage, mayor of a major city, and he's had a major book deal. In 2016 his net worth was around 700k, which is incredibly low for a member of congress, and means the vast majority of his current worth came from his 2016 book deal.
Criticizing Bernie for his level of wealth is probably the lowest IQ play you can make, so I'm not surprised to see you making it. It's right in line with "He says we should tax the rich more, so why isn't he giving all his money to the IRS?"
His net worth puts him in the top 1% so criticism of hypocrisy is quite appropriate considering he’s been preaching socialism and blaming the rich for eons.
Don’t get so hot and bothered. It’s human nature to want to excel and do well in life. Good for Bernie. Ironically the guy that has been preaching wealth redistribution and equality ends up rich when he’s old kind of like some comrades during Soviet times end up living in palaces and eating caviar while others are working in gulags for a piece of bread.
