Thats really the core issue. Obama was a once-in-a-generation
political talent. He should have been the leader of the Democratic Party for several decades,
culminating in the presidency. Like the role Nixon had for the GOP from the 50s through 1972.
Instead, Obama became president when he was just starting out as a politician, which was too early. His inexperience, naivity and lack of foresight made him pursue misguided
policy and turned him into an ineffective president even though he had the potential to achieve a lot more.
Now, the Democratic party is in disarray, with no convincing leader and 2020 presidential candidate in sight and carried by pretty much nothing but opposition to Trump. Since Trump is a GOAT a making people mad at him, this might be enough fior them to win back the House in November, but the entire presidential primary will do the Dems no favor, and I dont really see them winning in 2020 unless Trump
really fucks up.
