political parties and politicians have an interest in uniting people and their goals and interests
'
the media and social media NEED people to be as divided as possible

the media is in step with a certain particular party. the media divides us through their promotion of chaos, and said political party promises unification. a clever method that ironically social media helped us uncover and discuss

Abby Phillip on CNN making a good point. Biden talked about his mandate being unifying the country and bringing together Republicans to compromise.

This is what I voted for. Progressives won't like it, but Republicans are most likely going to hold the Senate so there's no other choice.

Biden mentioned having some repubs in his cabinet? Is that true and/or realistic? Would send a powerful message in times like these

Imagine if a Democrat was having the same Twitter meltdown that Trump is having. The double-standard is really telling.

To me this isn't a fruitful way of showing you're compromising. Pick the best person for the job on your side... appointing Republicans to your cabinet garners no good will from either Republican voters or politicians, and alienates your base.

Stomping fascism into the ground is a necessary action to maintain the sliver of democracy that we currently have.

fair enough, but i wonder if the rumours are true

also i wonder how many of biden's votes can be considered a true 'base' - since so much of this was anti-trump sentiment and a referendum to kick him out

we'll have to wait until 2024 to see i guess, heh.

The fuck does their sex, or place of birth have to do with them being fascists? Of fucking course they are.

They may not all be radicalized, but the ones that are need to be cast off so normal people can move back towards the center.
